As 2023 draws to a close, Bowers Group proudly reflects on yet another year of significant achievements. Throughout the year, the unwavering commitment to precision and innovation has seen advancements in product offering, engagement on the global stage and our progress to Net Zero.
Bowers Group Managing Director, Martin Hawkins, is delighted with the team’s achievements in 2023, saying:
“It’s a testament to all at Bowers Group that navigating the difficulties of the current climate, we’ve had a strong year across the business and the dedication and determination of our people has not gone unnoticed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Bowers Group employees and those customers who have supported, and continue to support, our business.”
The group’s already extensive range of instruments saw even more impressive developments. Notable among these were the advancements in air gauging technologies and the expansion of digital measurement systems, including the introduction of ASH range of digital microscopes.
With successful participation in international events and exhibitions, such as Control Exhibition, Bowers were able to engage with industry leaders, engineers, and manufacturers from around the world.
There was also a significant step made towards the group’s Net Zero pledge, achieving the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard across the business.
The Bowers Group presence outside of the Great Britain grew with the introduction of a dedicated Area Sales Manager to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. James Frawley joined the team in the first half the year and hit the ground running. With his extensive experience in the field of metrology, James has proven to be a crucial part of the team, driving sales and enhancing customer support in the region.
This year also saw inspirational personal achievements of members of the Bowers team, including Finance Controller, Mike Turner, representing the UK in the Europe Triathlon Championship in Madrid, and Production Inspector Supervisor, George Ford, tackling the Peak District Ultra Challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
It was also another triumphant year for the Bowers-sponsored University of Wolverhampton Racing team as they took on another season racing their Praga, Morgan and Formula Student cars. Bowers Group are incredibly proud to support the team and wish those who have graduated in 2023 the best of wishes and luck for the future.
But, whilst 2023 is almost over, 2024 is already gearing up to be a significant year for Bowers Group, with wheels in motion for many exciting events and projects.
One highlight is the group’s involvement in MACH 2024. Attendees can expect first-hand insights into pioneering products that look to redefine metrology processes in the engineering and manufacturing landscape. With an exciting array of tools and machinery on display, the group’s knowledgeable team will be on hand to share expertise and offer demonstrations of some of Bowers’ most popular products.
2024 will also see an exciting development to the product portfolio on offer at Bowers Group. While specific details remain under wraps, these innovations are designed to meet and exceed the evolving needs of the group’s diverse clientele.
And finally, in a significant strategic move for Bowers, 2024 will also involve the relocation of Baty production from Burgess Hill to Bradford. More than just a logistical shift, the move highlights its commitment to efficiency and excellence.
The relocation is poised to improve production capabilities, ensuring that Baty maintains its legacy of precision from the new Bradford base.
