We're delighted to announce that Team S&J has successfully completed the Sheffield Half Marathon, raising over £2500 in aid of the Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal.
Our team of dedicated runners, including Bowers’ own Anthony Fedzin, showed incredible determination and perseverance, braving the challenging course to cross the finish line, cheered on by family, friends and colleagues, in the heart of Sheffield City Centre on the 26th March 2023.
We couldn't be any prouder of our team for their hard work and commitment to this worthy cause. Not only did they push themselves to their limits, but they also raised an incredible £2,618 (246% of their target) to provide vital funds to help those diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
The Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal helps to give people living with MND the best quality of life possible with all related services being housed under one roof for the first time.
Over the past ten years, referrals to the Leeds MND centre have doubled, with 40 new referrals each year. To continue to provide the best quality service, the team need access to facilities tailored to their patients' specific needs.
Founder of the charitable fund, former Leeds Rhinos player, Rob Burrow, was diagnosed with MND in 2019 and has since become an advocate for the MND community. The new centre, to be named after him, will be the first in the UK to have its design led by the holistic needs of patients and their families.
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated and all those who supported our team throughout their training and on race day. Your encouragement and generosity made all the difference!
Congratulations again to Team S&J on this amazing achievement. We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish next!
