Bowers Group is delighted to announce it will be participating in this years’ Bradford Manufacturing Weeks, supporting the drive to educate, inspire and encourage young people in the area to consider apprenticeships within manufacturing.
Launched by Bradford Chamber of Commerce, Bradford Manufacturing Weeks brings manufacturers, schools and young people together through tours, work experience, seminars, exhibitions and learning events held at manufacturer premises and key locations across the district.
Deputy Managing Director of Bowers Group, Martin Hawkins, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Bradford Manufacturing Weeks with this initiative to promote apprenticeships. The engineering and manufacturing sectors have seen the effects of a long-standing skills shortage for many years. Bowers Group champions apprenticeships and has many success stories from doing so. This is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase just how successful careers can be forged through the scheme. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone involved into our Bradford site and hopefully getting the wheels of many prosperous and exciting futures in motion.”
Bowers Group will be inviting several groups of students into its manufacturing facility over the course of the 2 weeks, hoping to inspire the next generation of manufacturers with informative site tours and an inside look at how its precision measurement equipment is made.
With huge support from many local businesses, as well as big-name sponsors such as Barclays, the impact of Bradford Manufacturing Weeks on young people can be life changing. With more talent entering the field, it offers a helping hand to British manufacturing in remaining globally competitive for future generations.
Bradford Manufacturing Weeks will take place from 4 -15 October. To find out more about this inspiring initiative, visit the website at www.bradfordmanufacturingweeks.co.uk
